Hello TFP community!

Found this fantastic resource as we navigate the surprises coming with our inground pool. We’ve learned a lot this past week trying to get it up and running.

Looking for TFP insights on some of what we’ve discovered:
- Black Algae Swamp
- Hayward Super Pump 1HP (Makes humming noise and drops power)
- STA-Rite System 3 DE filter

Were getting ready to SLAM the pool but have not been able to power on the pump.

Welcome to TFP.
You will need a functioning pump to do a SLAM. Has this humming noise just started and is it only at start up or throughout the pump runtime.
You will also need a proper test kit. Please purchase one of the recommended kits -
Test Kits Compared
You will need liquid chlorine to bring up FC level throughout the SLAM. Purchase at WalMart or Home Depot.
You will need muriatic acid to bring down pH before you start the SLAM
