New Pool Build in Spring, TX

I have not seen anything like that but that is not saying much LOL

Walk us through what this is...........the bigger pipe on the bottom is the ???

The pipe coming up and over pointed at the bottom pipe is ????

Haha. I haven't seen this before either. PB indicates it's standard. The top pipe is the backwash line from the DE filter.

The bottom pipe ties into the sewer line to run the backwash to waste.

The purpose of the air gap is two-fold. To prevent a sewer back up from getting back up the filter line and to prevent any kind of bacteria (or other nasties) from working its way back into the pool plumbing.

Interesting.........So what I am thinking to keep things in and things out.............hardware cloth painted green or black wrapped around it. Watch for share pointy ends and file them down. I am sure you can find a way to make it look nice.

Decking poured today. Beat the rain! Pics coming later today or tomorrow. Final cleanup then Pebble Sheen next week. So close we can taste it. It took 3 weeks to get from dig through electrical. Now 3 1/2 weeks just to get the deck poured. Our PB uses only one decking guy. And he has been swamped the last couple of weeks. Now the backyard mess looks a little more tolerable.

Decking. Blue Stone texture from Brick Form.

It looks wonderful!!! The back of your home is very similar to mine. Ours will be the same proximity to the house as yours. You are almost done!!!

Thanks! We're having a hard time imagining what it will look like with blue water and green grass instead of the disaster we have now. Each step gets us a little more of the picture.
Following your build, too.

Regarding backwash plumbing....

I had this same setup with my old pool.
It was very useful during hurricanes and TS to drop the pool level.
I had no critter problems with it.
If it concerns you, just get some fly screen and zip tie it to both to and bottom pipes.

New pool is cartridge so no backwash.
Patricia made me miss not having a powered way to drop water level.
Ended up placing a hose in the pool, running it down hill from pool and setting up a siphon.
It was slow enough that I left it going all weekend.
This combined with my overflow pipe, kept pace with the rain.

Just got a call from our PB. Provided our pool isn't weeping tomorrow we are 2nd on the schedule to get plastered! 8 1/2 weeks after dig. I guess not too bad but the last 5 weeks was a long wait with just decking accomplished.

Whoop! Whoop! So exciting!!! Is it still warm enough there to swim after it's plastered? Looks like we have finally moved to fall here. Leaves changing and falling, gloomy, rainy, and temps in the 60's. It's beautiful outside when the sun is out. I love this time of year but dread the coming winter because I have to make it to work regardless of what the weather is doing.

Cant wait to see your pictures!!
