New Pool Build in Spring, TX

Lot of plumbing, bahahaha!

- - - Updated - - -

But seriously, if you are talking about just the setup of equipment on pad and plumbing/wiring it in.
About a day for the plumbing followed by a day for electrical. this assumes thay have all the fittings/components/controller boards/breakers on hand.
Mine had delays waiting for gas fittings and a replacement controller board for automation (fried out of box).

Don't jinx him Kim. He said it was pressurized not that it was holding!!

Besides, pressure test schmesser test. My PB was a real man and knew he had done it right and didn't need no stinkin' test.

Ha, I didn't key in on it at the time or I would have been nervous about that. All worked out though.

I'll be sure to pass that along to my PB! Haha.

Really coming together now.
Are you planning to put down bull rock around your pipes by the equipment pad?
You want to make sure you don't have grass growing around there.
The temptation to weed-whack around the pipes will wear away at them.

It is an important thing to give some thought to. I would put roofing paper down on top of the dirt (after tamping and smoothing the dirt) then put pretty rocks or stones in top of it a couple of inches thick. IF weeds or grass become a problem you can use round up to kill them.

Just another thing to do and spend money on LOL

Oh great there is another thing I gotta do. Thanks!

I use a mix of 3 parts vinegar to one part epsom salt add in about a cup of dishwashing fluid. Kills everything dead, doesn't stay dead has to reapplied from once a month to two months, but you don't have to worry about the kids, you or pets being in the areas and ingesting it.

Just reading thread for the first time. Did you ever decide on putting the deck all the way up to the house or leave some planter space? I think your builder is correct a little space not only looks nice can give you options later. If you do go with some space on either side of the walk way out of the house I would put a 3 inch conduit or 2 under the slab from one planter to the other, it can be used for extra drainage or in case you want to run water, speakers, electrical or what ever from side to side. I have done a fair amount of concrete work, PVC is cheep always nice to have an easy option to get from one side to another.

Thanks. We just had another discussion with the PB yesterday. Now that the pool is set we can see and experience how much room we have. On the spa side the deck will HAVE to go up to the house. There just isn't enough room otherwise. On the other side it's debatable. If I make a poor decision I want to err on the side with the least negative consequences. Going all the way to house may not look the best but it reduces the chance of a twisted ankle and I can always add small planters.
