Hello,
Recently purchased a home with an old pool (+/-30 yrs)
So far it has been wonderful.
My eyeballs jet returns need replacing, but the ones i have do not look like others.
I've tried grabbing, twisting, pulling on the 'housing' but it does not move. I have not tried any tools yet, I didn't want to break anything.
If they are glued on, how aggressive can I be?

1poolman1 - Thanks for the reply.
This item does not look like what i have.
The eyeball and eyeball holder look a lot like the Hayward sp1419.
Unlike the Hayward, my item does not have the internal notches, but has threads inside the jet housing.

Right... it looks like it should be what i need, but those are different.
Those have the notches inside, but mine have threads.
Those have the exterior locking ring. Mine have the Hayward four screw.

20+ years ago, did the Hayward returns have threads inside instead of notches?

plus a photo of my eyeball can cap.

If you have 1.5" threaded ports, the fittings I referred to will thread into them. They are made of 3 parts, the part threading in (mount), the "eyeball," the retaining/adjusting ring. Your picture is of only two of the three that I can see.

Here is a better pic of the new one. Notice the threaded part. That part is still in your wall return and will come out with channel lock pliers counter clockwise (gently). Then you will have all 3 parts in your hand. The 4 screw faceplate needs replacing too.
