New house, New-to-me pool, new adventure!

Oops sorry Marian I did not see your message! Haha no the kiddos didn't help. But they do ask me if I need to do the science experiment on a pretty regular basis.

Here's what I've been up to:

I slept pretty well, digging and in the sun then being a dad of 4 trumped any sunburn.

Pool related note:
Brushing is your friend, haven't done it in about 3 days due to working inside at night other than testing and adjusting for shock level.

Lesson learned: with not seeing bottom, assume there is algae chilling on the bottom and use the FULL LENGTH of extendable pole to get to the middle.

Reason: got out just now to check/adjust and decided to brush with fully extended pole. Ended up turning my pool slightly green again from brushing the algae from the middle . 10 mins later, filter psi jumped up 10psi.

****WARNING****
Optimism ahead...

At least I know why the pool color/clarity wasn't changing a whole lot over the past several days, and it can only get better from here!

When you put it that way I bet you DID sleep very well!

Good job on the brushing..........yeah got to do it at least once a day, two if possible. I bet the pressure did go up!

Right there with you on the :sun: optimum! I bet you do see a great improvement now!

Now to go along with Mariam's cute analogy----------do you have a light? Can your steps come out? Remind us to talk to you about all the great hiding spots for algae---in light holes, behind return knobs, inside skimmer boxed and all along the outside of the skimmer face plate.

My pool has it's own toothbrush just for these areas.

No lights, and yes my steps can be removed. Actually I haven't even put them in yet.

I can task one out our old toothbrushes to the job since we have a few for house cleaning.

Pool Update: brushed pool this morning as well and kicked up some less green cloudy stuff, actually noticed that I could see the pole nearly half-2/3 way down in the shallow end before it disappeared.

You may need to run to the pool store and get some new v-shaped plastic squeeze thingies, (yes, I am SO technical... AGAIN...), that attach the brush to your pole. I recently bought a 3-pack for about $3.00. My guess is that yours broke and I bet you don't have extras laying around.

OH no! NOT the dreaded v-shaped, springy thingy! They are bad, bad I tell you!

I second a new brush. NO getting in that water at night. We may never find you again. At least it is in shallow water so there is half a chance of finding it in day light.

IF you do decide to get in do NOT wear good clothes AND shower off right after. The high FC may irritate your skin some.
