New Geometric IG Pool in DFW

You have pebble and it looks beautiful [emoji7] Check with your pb about when you can swim. Ours said straight away. I didn’t want my boys in there until our water was sorted though plus it is winter. That reminds me... I still haven’t had a swim in my pool [emoji23]

Thanks everyone! Great idea about the tarp in the interim.

Guys are coming tomorrow to start up the equipment and put the start up chems in. I highly doubt we will get through Sunday without a swim. (Unless that rain we are expecting is relentless.)

shrid - We may end up doing some turf just to frame the pool. After we chatted about it awhile ago, I reread the HOA policies. They say it can be used minimally for instances like a putting green. Considering that other awesome pool on the trail by the lake has a frame of turf around the pool, I think we could get by with it. Are you doing some turf?

Adam - How is your build going? Are things moving along okay for you?

Ouch 8k is an awful lot not knowing if you will like it. How about leaving a 6-8 inch drop off around the pool so the grass that butts up against the pool is lower? Then when you cut/trim the area it won't be so bad blowing into the pool? In my case I had the grass installed even with the edge of the decking thus its harder to control when cutting and windy conditions.

Hope I explained that correctly...

Ctrav the 8k is the cost on my build. LeighHop and I live in the same community. My build is in a thread titled "New Build in The Colony, TX" the grass will be in the 5ft property line restriction area.

No worries Im sure LeighHop got it...

on another note it seems you have 2 threads going...one from April (12,000 gallons in TX) as well as this one? Two pools thats awesome :)

shrid - 8k just for the sod? That seems way high, but what do I know.

So... she finished filling up about 2:15 this morning. Need to do my final math but it looks like we are right around 15,000 gallons. Loving the color so far, can't wait to see it change over the next few days. Pool company came by to do start up so we will take the inaugural dip tonight. The system says the water is at 87, which is probably going to feel pretty darn good considering how hot it is. Working on the punch list with the PB. He's on top of things, so hopefully we get that dirt covered up quickly.

These pictures were taken at 1:00. The reflections are from the sky. Definitely areas that need to be brushed, but the finish is already looking awesome.

Oh, also... got my TF100 test kit. Going to test tomorrow. The start up company is in charge for the first month, but I'm going to come to each meeting with numbers in hand, have suggestions (with your help) and questions.

WOWZER that is PRETTY!!!

Go ahead and test your fill water and keep it handy. This will be handy to know when you have to add water later.

PH is going to be your big one to watch. New plaster pushes it way up and fast.

Wow that color is awsome. What is it?

The 8k is not for sod its for synthetic grass. I have gotten 2 quotes. In from the PB and one from a 3rd party both where within a few 100 of each other.

Oh, it feels like it's crawling, but I know it takes time. I have a hole, rebarb and stub plumbing - the permit seemed to take forever! Should have gunite as soon as weather allows next week - hopefully the weather reports are wrong and it'll be Monday!

I love the color of your pool, it looks fantastic, and might actually sway us to Ocean Blue. We were looking at Blue Granite but that looks great!

Lots of times the first days of the water make the pool color appear more green. Yours looks gorgeous from day one, so I bet it is going to be *incredible* as it cures.

Well done! :goodjob:

<sidenote- a hanging basket of flowers or vine growing plant upwards on the fence at that junction point will make the junction less noticeable>
