New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

Thanks just ordered the 614IQ. Much cheaper price on Leslie's than on Amazon. Didn't see an option for the extra fine filter basket. I'll give it go without that for a while.
Marina pool and spa out of Colorado sells parts including the baskets. Parts unlike the robots can be ordered via website in addition to phone/email

Hi all... Based on this thread, I bought the iq model, finally hooked it up to the WiFi (which I was amazed reached the back yard with no extender), and really loved the rise feature where it expels all the water before you lift it out.

Anyway, in the middle of it running yesterday, we got an unexpected rainstorm. I wasn't so sure about the control panel being in the rain, as well as the snap-in connection to the cord. So I ran out and brought it back in the house. I'm thinking I should maybe buy a deck box or something that will keep the rain off the control panel and plug. As I assume the rest of it can just deal with the rain, since all the other parts sit under water anyway.

Am I worrying too much about this? Or do you think this is prudent to do? Alternatively, I could just bring it in the house, but I worry about unclipping and re-clipping the cable too much, as I read from some of you where that might be one of the weak points of this machine.

This is our first pool (above ground) and this plus the betta have been keeping it in great shape.

I was concerned as well so I have mine in a case from harbor freight on my home built caddy.

It gets warm so I usually leave it open unless it's raining/expected to rain

rm,

I too would not leave the power supply outside in any direct rain...

I do not really like the cheap connector on the robot side of the cable... I leave mine connected to the power supply all the time, just because it just looks like a failure point..

Thanks,
