I see no issues with you using the pucks to up the CYA as long as you are running your pump 24x7 as your are now. Seems very prudent if you already have them. Keep track of how many you have used to calculate your CYA. This will be more accurate than a measurement this early on in the pool startup. Just keep your FC at the level appropriate for the calculated CYA. See output from PoolMath below on tri-chlor tabs. One tab a day is probably about perfect dosage.

If I remember correctly, the App defaults to Salt level of 1000. I thought maybe this had been corrected but maybe not.
Now that you have a real test kit, you will probably find the pH will only rise and not hover between 7.2-7.5. If it is falling I believe that indicates the TA needs to be upped, but again I am still a newbie and would look for the Gem Geeks to chime in.
Bury your head about the UV gadget and chalk it up to lesson learned. I think others on here believe it actually ups your chlorine usage as the UV consumes it....... Kind of makes sense but I have 0 experience with it. Maybe your PB will give you a decent trade in value for a SWG?
If it helps, you will save that $1500 back quickly maintaining your pool the TFP way and staying away from the pool store hocus-pocus. Trust me, I have plenty of experience with that...........
