New build, north DFW again!

That does stand out a lot in the sun. Good call on your part for asking for them to be replaced.

Yeah they were about to get some free tiles that you paid for.

When we had our kitchen and breakfast room tiled they over bought the tiles. There were 2 whole boxes and 1 open box that only one was used. I made sure they stayed with me. I kept out 3 tiles for just in case and took all of the others back and got my money back from the store. Of course one of the guys tried to tell me that THEY had paid for it and it was theirs to take. NOPE! I had already asked the main guy and seen the paperwork so I KNEW the tiles were mine.

Ok, update on the coping pieces. We have not heard a yes or a no from the pool builder, only that the stone mason's will be out to take a look. Kind of frustrating, especially since we are only asking to replace 4 pieces.

But the build still moves on... Today they started working on the decking prep.

This is going to look so good. I know I said it before but every time I look at your house brick - I really love the mortared look and then the corresponding stone choices for the pool - so well pulled together. I can't wait to see the decking - I think you will be very happy with the amount you have done and the width's you have in various areas for chairs and passage of people. And it totally looks like your dog is checking out the decking forms for approval. Good girl! -Karen

Just out of curiosity, do you already have a natural gas grill? My pool doesn't use gas, but while they were doing all the construction I figured I would just hire a plumber to run a gas line to my patio for a NG grill. It was ridiculously expensive, but it was one of the best upgrades I've ever done.

No, I don't have a NG grill, and my current propane grill is 3/4 of the way in the grave. When we built the house, I thought about running a line but decided against it based on the cost and the amount of time we actually grill out. We considered it again when we were in the planning stages of the build, but came to the same conclusion. It is possible that the amount of time we spend grilling will go up with the pool build, who knows. My current plan is to get a decent charcoal ceramic grill (like the big green eggs) next spring.

That coping is so sharp looking!

looking awesome Pigiron!

Thank you! We appreciate all the compliments!

Nice! Looking good and getting closer!

I'm assuming with them finishing the wash on the sides, that you will step down from the pool deck to the rest of the yard and it won't be graded up level?

They said they will do some grading, but it will not be flush. We have a retaining wall behind our house that is considerably lower than the decking level.
