NEW AGP - How to startup?

Hi everyone, had my AGP installed yesterday. I expect it to be filled by then end of today or mid day tomorrow and we are super excited.

My questions is, what I do I need to do to swim? It was filled with "tap" water and its crystal clear and I plan on adding a chlorine tablet to a floater. Do I need to do anything else? Shock it? I bought one of those opening kits, it may be dumb of me but it doesnt seem nessessary to add all of that kit to a new pool.

Thanks for the help. Ive looked into other threads on TFP but their really no straight forward "you need to do this for a brand new AGP" (Unless I missed it).

CYA, Chlorine, adjust ph, maybe add alkalinity if your water is very soft.

To be specific.
Add 3 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine. Every day. Might be more or less as time goes on based on testing.
Add 30 ppm CYA worth of stabilizer granules using the sock method.
Adjust pH into the 7's, if necessary.

How are you testing your pool water chemistry?

Test Strips simply do not provide the accuracy and consistency you need. Because of this we do not make chemical recommendations based on them.
