I have a 12,500 gallon pool. I need to raise the pH from 7.0 to 7.5. I am planning to use 20 mule team borax to accomplish this. How do I figure how much I need to add? Also, dissolve it in water first, or just add to the water in dry form?

Incomplete Data.

If your TA is relatively high, the pH will climb fast enough with a little aeration, whether a waterfall,m or aspa, or just a few swimmers.

If your TA is very low, it should be addressed first. pH may bounce back in no time just by raising TA.

Did you just fill this pool, or did you overshoot with some acid, or have you maybe been chlorinating with acidic trichlor or dichlor?

Help us help you. Post some test results. Tell us what's going on.

TA is currently 105. Everything tested good except for the pH being a little low. Think I'll just let it go for now. We have just opened the pool for the year (weather very cool, and so much rain!!!) to crystal clear water under the winter cover. Just finished the initial vacuuming. Off to a good start...so far. Thanks.
