Moving.. Going to do a DIY Build.

I am unable to draw a little sketch right now. Can someone help me out here and sketch the three-way valves plumbing or is there a link there too?

Why is the capacity of the CCP420 the same as the capacity of the CCP520 yet the filter area is more on the latter unit?

Turnover capacity is based on flow rate, not filter area.

You are not going to be pushing maximum flow rates through those filters anyway. They are theoretical number.

Got it. So Normally Open is pump to filter and Closed is pump to waste.

One more question. Which Model Micro Brite Lights The Micro Brite Lights are all the same except for the cord length? They do white and a range of colors?

Talking to the guy at the jobber warehouse, he's telling me that cartridge filters are harder to clean than DE filters. I know how much of a PITA it is to clean a DE filter but have no experience with a cartridge filter.

It will take you 45 mins the first time and then 30 everytime after that. With a 420 Sq ft on 11k gallons you could go seasons without cleanings.

We recommend at least once per season if you never reach the 25% PSI increase that others do.

SW,

I have two DE filters and a larger cartridge filter.

I'd say it takes me about the same amount of time to clean either of them, but it is much harder to clean a DE filter. Then you have to have a place for the old DE to go, and you have to add DE when you are done.

I'd had both and I will never buy another DE filter again. In fact, the two DE filters that I have at rent house pools no longer have MPV valves and they get cleaned twice a year. Once they die, they will be replaced by larger cartridge filters. The cartridges should last 7 to 10 years.

Thanks,

Jim R.

There's no place to bond the microbrites. there's no niche for them. I'd have to double-check my transformers, but I only recall that they are grounded, not bonded.

You need an alternative water bond to the pool since LED lights cannot do it.

I think your electrician is saying he will provide and alternate water bond. You should ask where that is going to be installed.

Interestingly enough it is in the plumber's quote but the plumber and electrician basically work together as a team so that's probably why. At any rate it is $55 on an estimate a couple orders of magnitude higher so it probably isn't worth the worry..
