New here, this place is filled with so much amazing information. So nice to have a place with real pool people sharing information and methods.

Relatively new pool owner.
Third summer. Still learning, but do we ever stop learning?!

As the screen name indicates I’ve been a “bad pool mom” … thought I was doing everything right and apparently I’ve had it all wrong . Working towards changing that now

Don't beat yourself up too bad. You were doing as the 'pros' directed. And what'd you know? I was there myself for a long time, many of us were.

Like when my PB told me to bathe my SWG in straight acid every 3 months, who was I to know better ? The cell itself said to, right on it. But it turns out that acid strips the oh so valuable coating on the plates that makes the magic happen. Live and learn. We got you now.

Thanks so much! I’ve read enough post on here to know a test kit is my first step. It’s ordered and will be here in a few days. I’ll prob have a flood of questions once I get it. Ordered the Taylor k2006-C

Excellent choice !!

Lets ignore the inaccuracies for a moment of *cough* certain *cough* test methods. They're all off to some degree anyway. When we are all off together, and we know what to do with test method X results, it's like we're standing right there testing with you. We'll guide you and little by little it'll all click and poolcare will be a joke in no time.

It's info overload for a couple weeks, so apologies there and hold onto your hat. If we go too fast, let us know and we'll pause, rewind, repeat, whatevs you need. We're a patient bunch for anyone willing to learn.
