Reading many pool heater installation indicat to install the heater before the clorinator. Any reason why this is the case vs. installing it after the clorinator?

The concentration of chlorine can make the water corrosive to the pool heater core. The local pH in a SWG cell will be different then in the large body of pool water. Not installing according to manufacturers recommendations is likely to void any warranty.
