Leave SWG plugged in? Not sure

So I can use that yellow wheel timer? That is great. I actually have no idea how to use it, but it’s looks like it should be easy to figure out.
Your timer is missing the trippers. They're probably in or around the box.
So with the Ichlor 30 or the ic40, how long would I need to run it? Do I need to run the pump faster so the SWG will turn on?
Go to Pool Math "Effect of Adding". Select SWG. For "24 Hour SWG Output", select the SWG model using the search icon. You can play around with the boxes below. Here's an example using the IC40 output of 1.4 lbs per day:

I will likely stuck with a Pentair version since the rest of my equipment is pentair.
Someone else will need to help with the Pentair system. I know it can be configured to work with 120 volt wiring, but not sure if it comes with a power cord. Maybe @Newdude can help here.

Look at warranties as well. Pentair systems are only warranted for 2 years. CircuPool carries a 7-year prorated warranty.

The green trippers turn device on. The brass trippers turn off the device. The device can also be switched on and off manually using the manual lever just below the timer wheel.

This is probably more info than you need at this point, but your pump may be connected to the load (timed) side of the timer. Since your pump requires constant power, the trippers were likely removed. When connecting the SWG, you'll need to make sure the pump is connected to the Line in terminals of the timer mechanism. We can help with that when the time comes.

Would this mean I’d have to control both the pump and the SWG through this yellow wheel timer? Or would the pump still be able to be set via the panel in the pump how I currently have it set? And then the SWG would be through the yellow wheel timer?

Trying to gather information about this since I’m going to have a company do it and I don’t want to accidentally accept an incorrect installation.

The pump would not be controlled by the timer as it requires 24/7 power. You would continue to use the pump's control panel. Only the SWG would be controlled by the timer wheel.

Spoke with my husband and we are looking to move forward.

I see that the Ichlor 30 has 3 year warranty
The intelliclor version has 2 year warranty.
It’s not clear why this difference of a year exists. Are they just pushing one over the other? Are they planning phase out or revise the intellichlor? I worry about buying something on its way out.

sorry I was slow to understand. 🙂
Lady. Don't even get me going. You KNOW we got you. :)

Pentair says to wire it either 120v or 240V to the breaker(s). I cannot think of a good reason beyond that why someone competent in electric couldn't wire a standard plug to the controller. It'll likely void the warranty if Pentair ever sees it.

Stay away from the Ichlor 30.
They are the budget model with as expected results. The 20/40/60 is more robust.

At what % do you run your cells? What’s reasonable? 50% 80%? Playing around with pool math but am not sure if running it at a certain % increases the usable life of the cell.

I’m deciding between the ic40 and ic60. Are they they same dimensions? So for example if I get the ic40 and then in hopefully several years when I need to replace can I just pop it out and add the ic60?
