Las Vegas Build - It's like butter

Curious, what was the process to get access to the hydrant? Or did you just pick up a wrench at your local hardware store ? [emoji850]

Totally legit.. Called a company here locally. A lot of the water services fill pools. They flush the line, then meter the amount into your pool.. It cost $270 bucks for their time and the water... the water was .01 cents a gallon... so $110 for the water and $160 for two guys time.. (including travel).

Thanks, my city water is going to run me about $450 to fill 16K gallons by hose. If I could do it faster and cheaper with a 3rd party, I am willing to look into it. What kind of company would I even search for?

Mack! That looks awesome!

Okay test time...........what number is WAY out of balance? Do you know what to do about it??

I will check back in to see if you know.

Guessing my Chlorine.. at least according to pool math.... and watching another similar start, I am guessing at this point to simply put in floating tabs.. for the first week? My plasterer said no chlorine for 48 hours...

and possibly bring my PH down a bit to 7.4 using acid.. Maybe the TA should be brought down as well, but the acid should do that too.. ?

I put my test results in the start up and haven't had any responses.

The TA is the one that really stood out to me. You are correct in that as you push the PH down it will also, slowly, push the TA down.

Tablets for FC and CYA until he will let you use chlorine. As soon as you can get the FC up.

Pool Math to the rescue! Will it matter that I wont add Jack's Magenta for a few days? in the scheme of things, it seems that as long as it it gets in, in the next week.. I should be okay.. ? Or should I grab something else? and if so, what would you suggest that might be readily available?

Running for the door..............this is a question I am unsure of...........try doing a search and see what you find on other builds. I am THINKING you need to add it asap but am not sure enough to really say buy something now. I am sorry. See what your plaster manufacture says.

He says add it... on first day .. but only as a high recommendation.. I am going to see what I can find... I thought some Jack's blue was available somewhere...

Look for Startup Tec or Jacks. Add it as soon as possible.

Keep the pH around 7.4-7.5 for the time being. Keep a watchful eye on the pH as it's going to rise quickly and you do not want the pH much above 7.5 with your current TA level. I assume you are going with the bicarb start?

I was able to get Start Up Tec... I will add it in a few hours when I get home. Yes, Bicarb Start up.

Beautiful outcome, Mack. I'd go for Jacks Magenta, specifically designed for plaster startups.

Thank you! I saw that the Blue was also for plaster start up? In any event, I have the magenta coming in the mail, I am guessing I can add that anyway as a treatment eventually. I feel like I saw Jacks Magic somewhere in Vegas, either Smiths or Lowes... I am going to double check on my way home, prior to using the Startup Tec

Using Pool Math, shoot to maintain a CSI of +0.5 and expect to add acid daily because your TA is so high. It is also in your best interest to limit any form of aeration since that will also drastically increase pH rise.

Okay.. I will be testing in a few hours again... I have acid on hand at home. I was playing with the waterfalls earlier, getting everything running... probably wasn't best idea then because of the aeration. I will try not to do that again.

BTW even though no chlorine for at 48 hours, should the tri-pucks go in a floatie? I thought they are chlorine... or just wait the 48 hours to put them in?

Fire 'em in. Go with 2 for every 10,000 gallons

Okay!

Meanwhille - Here is a few more pics... lots of plaster dust... plus my guys installing the pavers are a bit dusty... .

Tonight's test results"

PH 7.5
FC 0
CC 0
TC 0
CH 275
TA 250

Added a bottle of Startup Tec a few hours before testing...

Adding a bit of acid per Pool Math

Adding in three pucks in a floatie...

Odd that you have a lot of dust. You shouldn't have much since the pool was acid washed. Did they also pressure wash the pool?

Brush as often as you can stand and run the pump 24/7 until the dust clears up. Be sure to pay attention to your waterline tile with the brush as well.
