Just started build in South Texas

Thanks y’all. I have been very pleased with how it is all turning out. We started our journey thinking we would move to a house that already had a pool, but instead we decided to build our own. Turns out when I got to design and make choices they are very different from the “used” pools we looked at.

No progress this past week. They came and cut a hole in the roof for the fireplace smoke stack and also worked on the tile for the slimmer covers. That was it. I am hopeful that will will have more progress this eeek. Keeping my fingers crossed that the kitchen will be built on Monday.

The last few weeks have been very slow with the holiday and then rain. I don’t ever complain when it rains though since we alway need it. On Saturday they came and roofed part of the structure. They haven’t been back since to finish it. BOO. They did come today and started on the veneer that is going under the bar, on the kitchen and fireplace. Yay!!

My PB called in a new tile guy because I guess the other one was too busy to come do finish work. We have tumbled travertine pavers in a French pattern. The new guy wants to grout the joints. I did not think that was necessary and I like the way it looks without the grout lines. The concern is that if there is water and then it freezes this will crack the tiles. I live in San Antonio. Yes, it did snow last year and occasionally we get a freeze or an ice storm. Opinions please.

Hi,
Your pool is coming along beautifully! Love the tile!! I'm in San Antonio as well. We will be starting our pool in the next weeks. I am undecided with the color quartzscape. Top contenders are St. Martin, Barbados Blue, and Montego Bay. Have you decided which color your are going with? Do you have any more pics?
Thanks,
Adriana

Still haven’t decided on the quartzscape color yet. My PB is supposed to be be taking me to see a St. Martin Shade sometime soon.

A bit more progress today. Seems like there is still a ton to be done.

You can’t tell from the picture but we now have a roof. They are also still installing the veneer.

Still have not decided on a quartzscape color.
