I have a Jandy JXi gas heater that is two years old, I opened my pool on 4-30 and when I turn my heater on it makes a loud humming noise. I haven't ran it for more then 15 minutes, should I let it run for a couple hours?

So the heater is running but has a humming sound? I would take the side covers off and make sure you don't have any obstructions in the blower motor.
Yes it is running, once it lights there is a loud humming noise like something isn't opening all the way. I will take the sides off and check.
Stand by the heater and see if it is cycling which is must be because you say the water is hot then cold coming from the return.
Check the air orifice on the blower motor to make sure nothing is in there. An obstruction in there can cause a whining sound to happen.
Also make sure you have good water flow to the heater. If you have a bypass valve, make sure it is not allowing too much water to bypass the heater.

Thanks, it is only two years old and still under warranty, there is good water flow as I don't have a bypass valve. I read somewhere that it could be the Thermal regulator valve.
