I was having this issue with my Jandy JXI 400N heater that would constantly turn on, heat for a few minutes and then turn off and give a high limit, check IGT errors.
I was able to fix the issue by just replacing the TRV valve. I originally got the part from Amazon and ended up being incorrect even though the part number was correct. I found the right one from aquapoolsupply.com and at a good price. Part is:
Jandy JXi Thermal Regulator Valve for Model 200/260/400 R0589700
Once I opened up the location of the TRV valve, you can see it was all corroded and also a small rock made its way in there.
I replaced the part and now the heater runs constantly with no errors! Thanks for various posts from this site, i was pointed in the right direction.
Remember to depressurize the pool equipment cause water flows right thru the TRV valve.

Thanks for sharing. Thermal Regulator Valve (TRV) is the most common cause of heater overheating faults.
