Jandy filter gauge just broke off

the plastic threaded part that screws into the top of the filter body broke, part #5? this is crazy, it’s never touched by anybody and it’s not in the sun. Now here is the question, how do I release the pressure in the filter? I am going to have to carefully get this broken stub out of the filter lid as it broke level with the top of the filter body. Just took the filter lid off, nothing to grab onto. Any thoughts of how to get the broken threaded plastic out of the lid?

suggestions?

Pipe nipple internal wrench. They go inside the opening and the offset cam causes it to lock into the pipe when you turn it.
Be careful though. Plastic is easily mangled.

Try a screw extractor in a tap wrench as shown here...

Or start with a small drill bit and go progressively up in size by hand until the plastic thins out without damaging the filter threads.

I would have to see exactly what you are dealing with to decide what may work.
