Tracey! You have been on a ride with that pool for sure! You are heading in the right direction with all that you are doing.

I want to make sure you are doing a rinse cycle after you do each backwash. This re-seats the sand after being stirred up by the backwash.

Are you brushing the pool at least once a day? If not please do so. This helps get all of the yuck stirred up so the filter can try to grab it.

The bubbles tell us something is doing something! What it is??? Not really sure. I am thinking you are having some kind of reaction. This is more common at the very beginning of the SLAM. I would not worry about it and keep on keeping on with the SLAM. You got this!!!

Yes ma'am. Rinse after each backwash. Brushing the pool at LEAST 1x daily, most days 2xs (except while we were gone - 3 days).

It looks very similar to the one I have. I have run this sucker when I had to SLAM last year cycle over cycle.
I wasn't even brushing at all. Robot, filter and chlorine were doing all the dirty work for me and I was done within a week too.

I have once or twice. The issue I have with my robot is I have to turn the pump off to use it. While I am slamming, I’m doing my best not to turn it off at all. Otherwise the current takes the robot and does what it wants to with it.

Since I have begun to save my test results (yesterday afternoon), Poolmath changes the slam goal number. I have been changing it back to 18.
Why is it changing it?

I am and it changed it to 12 this morning when I slid the SLAM. Normal target says its 4.

The app uses your last reported CYA level for the FC suggestions.

I do have eyeballs. However I’m not sure how I would turn them in order for the rotation of the water to not affect the vacuum.

No more bubbles! And I have only added 1.5 gallons of liquid chlorine since last night around 8 PM.

That is awesome news and an awesome sight! That is trending towards blue for sure. In a few days it will be blue, cloudy still but blue! Keep doing what you are doing! It is working-!!

Eyeballs-they should have a ring around them with little bumps on them to help your grab them. Turn them counter clockwise aka to the left. The inside part is the moveable part you can push it this way and that way. It may take a couple to tries to get them just how you want them so they don't mess with your cleaner. Let me know if you have any problems moving them. I have a couple of ideas if you do.

Nice Tracy, you're doing great! And see what I mean about experts here? I have no idea how to help on the cleaner but Kim's got you covered on the eyeballs and cleaner. I'm pretty sure she'll have you pumping and cleaning soon. I have a different type of pool to yours and my suction cleaner isn't affected... hope some day to have a robot. Just got in from a short scuba session in the pool to "help" my cleaner.

Ok ladies and gents.... I'm still doing the SLAM. However, water is blue but cloudy. So....I'm thinking through this (trying to think outside the box) and am wondering if a TA of 270 could be causing the cloudy.

Yes, I still have a light covering of bubbles but will do a deep clean of my filter this weekend.

What, if any, harm would it do if I lower the TA while SLAMing? My overnight FC didn't lower last night however the temps got really low (around 60) & I'm curious if that has much, if anything, to do with the lack of FC loss.

The problem will be that you can't get a good pH reading unless your FC is below 10, and if you take your pH too low your water can become acidic and start damaging the pool equipment/liner.
