Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

Dang Sis. I 'member back when you would dream big about how 'one day' you would build an inground. It was a LONG and sucky road here, but seeing you get to enjoy this some warms my heart.

Casey are you using skimmer socks or the hair nets from Amazon? That should help a bit with his hair.
Kim... with the amount of hair that he leaves in the pool after a swim, I'm afraid to use them because it's a lot. The hair will fill the basket n act like it's own skimmer sock n that's no lie. This is the first time I actually cleaned the filter since it was installed. I literally have to scoop the dog hair out of my skimmer basket daily. My robot filters need cleaned daily too. I mean I guess my house is a little less hairless since he's been swimming... it's all in my pool!!!

I have a problem guys. I had a child pull up on the skimmer basket and a toy/s were sucked into my skimmer line and the pump literally ran dry within 1 minute. I was filling up a pool toy with the return water and the slide and the return I had open stopped completely. Like literally stopped but the pump was still running. The pump basket was dry by the time I walked over to the equipment pad. I, along with my brother, have tried to blow the lines for 2 hours. We took the pump off the skimmer line and filled the line with water and tried blowing it back out to the skimmer box. The air is moving around the object/s. We tried to fill the line and blow with 1 shop vac at the equipment pad and suck with another shop vac at the skimmer box. Absolutely nothing has come out. I questioned myself if anything truly went down n hooked it all back up and the pump wants to prime but stops filling the pump basket and has absolutely no suction at the skimmer box within a couple minutes with pump on and "priming". I'm afraid of cavitation that I or the object has possibly created. I was instructed to use an air compressor which I have at 30psi to start and seal it to try and blow the line towards the skimmer tomorrow after work. If that doesn't work, I was told to then seal the skimmer box line with a plug and blow it sealed from the equipment pad. If this doesn't work, I'm looking at worse case scenario and having to plumb a brand new line from the skimmer to the pad.

I won't even get into how I feel about this right now. This is what I came home to after a rough day at work and it wasn't even the 2 little ones that usually use my pool. The grandmother of these kids (she's my cousin) asked me how much it would cost to fix it and I just looked at her n told her, You can't afford it!!!

Im attaching a video of my worst case scenerio and a pic of the air compressor we plan on using. I need guidance on anything you guys can offer to help me clear this line. I took 10 days off on 7/20-7/29 and I'm going to be replacing a main line. I'm burning up about all of it.

Omg girl 😱 I hope u can dislodge it!
I know u wanted more concrete/pavers around the pool but its a good thing u don’t have so much now incase u have to go the route of a new line.

I'm going on the outside perimeter of the concrete to run the new line.

Any idea what kind of toy it was? Wonder if a plumbing company could send a snake down there to try and snag it, or push it back through?

--Jeff
We're going to try to pressurize the line first. I'll tell my brother to grab a snake.

Plumbers have cameras to look inside pipes and determine where and what, then how to tackle it. Keep in mind if your own efforts don't bear fruit. I suspect your going to need to add a fitting you can attach to that will be sealed, and send water pressure back toward the skimmer. If there's gaps around the blockage, air may not do it. TLDR: use a plumber or pool specialist that has the gear needed.

If I don't get it out tomorrow then I'll see what a plumber will charge for a camera

There was another person who dropped a rock into the skimmer line and it got stuck and good. What they did was use a tennis ball to help seal the hole in the pump basket. They put a hole where the ball would be at the hole facing the pool then a hole just big enough for the air fitting to fit into. it worked!

@Newdude @ajw22 you two are great at finding threads. This one was within the last couple of weeks so may be easy for you to find enough though I can't find it.
