My steps are horrific! And the decking... I have so much invested in this pool and the concrete looks bad.

Maybe the mix was wrong? Definitely call the “old man”. Concrete ain’t cheap.

He's ready to rip it out but I'm going to see if he can put lipstick on a pig n make it look pretty first. He's got some tricks up his sleeve even though he's ready to tear it out. I really don't want to go that route.

The problem with lipstick is it doesn't last forever, I'd go the full tear out and ask why the second pour will be different.

The second pour should have had retarder in it. But... my last pour was the hot tub pad and although I dont have pics, it looks great and it's from the second truck. I guess my biggest concern is the way the steps look. I suspect that since they are smaller pours (8) steps, they were drying fast n it was getting hard to work with. The actual decking is looking better by the day and getting whiter. I'm going to hold of on tearing it out until this 45 year mason does what he knows best. When he's done trying to salvage it and we still dont like it, then we'll tear it out. I know this man's work. It's why he got the job. I'm not angry with him as much as he is at the company for mixing the concrete wrong. I know either way, he's going to make it right.

My steps look amazing. I love my concrete guy. My hot tub pad... its coming on Monday n being hooked up on Tuesday! And my pool decking. I can not wait to put my pool furniture together. I have to finish my landscaping closest to the gate and on the back end of the pool. This is the last of planting that I'm going to do in the ground because its getting hot. I dont want to invest in plants and have them dying in the heat. I've got some planters/pots I'm going to start focusing on. I'm so glad my concrete guy came through. I knew he would. He wasn't supposed to be here til 1700 but he was here at 1500 when I got home from work. It was a pleasant site to see after the day I had at work watching an inmate clean up a cell covered in 2" deep! It can only be described as one of the WORST cells I've ever seen in nearly 6 years!!! This makes it all worth it. I need my tub too. My hips hurt so badly. Some nights I could just cry, I lay in bed n just roll trying to get comfortable.

Those are the same steps. He polished them. The inmate who did it did not clean it. It was another inmate who had to clean it. It was horrible.

Doesn't work that way. Those Blood n Body guys are very good at their jobs. They clean up the worst of the worst messes you could ever lay your eyes on. They don't treat the messers badly even if they are horrible to them while they clean it.

Life lesson time folks.

If having that job in prison is still 100 better times than just being in prison so you are happy to do it..............................

None of us want to go to prison. Don't do things that will get you there.

I got my hot tub delivered today. It's a Nordic tub. It looks pretty good sitting in its spot! It's getting hooked up tomorrow with electricity. The ledge is my spot!

I dont have anything and dont know anything about it other than the tub runs off a mineral system that's built into it. I have to read the owners manual too.
