Get some Ahhsome ordered asap-
Biofilms 🤢
All hot tubs are wet tested at the factory & it’s impossible to get all the water out so things grow while in transit to u.
You likely have everything else on hand that may be needed.

Here is a read on awwww-some:

and just in case you wan to use chlorine:

I see on the nordic website where they recommend dichlor & ozone but no mention of minerals.
The dichlor isn’t necessary to do the chlorine method- sometimes I just use 30ppm cya in a skimmer sock & bleach right off the bat.
It just can be tricky to measure such a small amount of cya unless u have a small scale.

I have a food scale I bought for measurements of dry chemicals. I'll try it out. Start of lowballing it and see where I go. I did get a packet of the ahhhsome with the tub. I'm going to order more.

My German Shepherd has finally become brave enough to go swimming. I told everyone DO NOT PUSH HIM INTO THE POOL! Let him go in on his own terms! He loves it and I'm so happy that he does.

Some action shots with the Birthday Girl! She's 9 years old today!

I put 6 chairs together today. I have a friend who is going to send some guys out to help me with the rest of the pool furniture. I also set up some planters to help hide my pump station. I found these wooden stand like things in the basement. I have no idea where they came from but I'm using them for height. I also added planters under my slide. I have elephant ears in the red planters and ornamental grass in the skinny taller ones.

Not a big fan of those elevated planters as the chance of them falling on someone accidentally is too risky otherwise everything else looks great.
No one is going to be over there. I'm going to leave them be. If I see that they wobble during high wind then I'll take them down.

I get your point but with one recommendation which is, when I zoom in on those wooden stands it's obvious the pot is supported only on 2 edges as the other 2 sides have no wooden support. At minimum I'd block the top layer so that it has all wood to support it. Now it's simply wobbly even without the wind as there's nothing solid there at all.

I went to bed thinking about it and I'm going to pull them off when I get home.

Casey,

I have spent the past couple hours reading this entire thread. All 46 pages. I just couldn't stop reading.

You are amazing. I remember seeing you on here several years ago when I was devouring everything I could while we were building. I came back this week to look at spa threads. Saw you there, and noticed you have a new pool! It is just beautiful.

What a roller coaster ride you've had to get to this point. I can't even imagine. Your patience, strength and positive attitude are impressive. I just wanted to leave this note for you and I hope you and your Princess enjoy all your hard work for a very long time!

Warmly,

Sara from NC

Thank you Sara. My patience has been tested to the max. I'm just taking it one day at a time anymore n enjoying life for what it's worth. My little Princess is doing great n getting big. She loves her brand new pool so much.

I spent today getting my pool shed organized and I got some pool furniture put together. I took my boys down with me and Cecil my GSD decided to take a swim while I worked. It was nice to look over my shoulder and watch him enjoying the pool by himself. He really loves it too. I didn't get any pics of him swimming though. I have a friend coming over tomorrow n bringing a couple guys to help me finish putting the pool furniture together. I turned the heater up on the pool n we'll be swimming when we're done putting it together. I'm going to order us pizza too. Here's a pic of my old man, JJ the boxer, enjoying the evening breeze.

Got my furniture put together today and I love it. I have 2 umbrellas that I'll bring down tomorrow. I stopped working to go buy more mulch. I have 10 yards coming tomorrow. I have so much work that needs done. I'm just taking my time.
