IC40 reading 1,000ppm lower than test, having problems maintaining FC level

Ok, at almost 8 years old, the cell has had a good life.

The thermistor has already been replaced once.

I would do an external sensor.

Install the external sensor and connect it to the green and white.

Sorry about the blurred image. I never replaced the thermistor, installer must have installed an older (used) IC40. Thats frustrating! I do doubt that as many pools as they install that they would provide a 3 year old IC40.

I pull the chlorinator out every winter and inspect the plates, replace with a spool piece, and use liquid chlorine. We have very soft water in SC and I keep water balanced year around. Plates are good and silver. I would like to save it.

If your original cell is a 4 wire cell, then a 4 wire Flow Switch will work just fine.

I misunderstood, and thought that you had a 3 wire cell.

Allen has posted this, "The 3 wire flow switch can be used on older 4 wire cells. The 4 wire flow switch cannot be used on the new cells manufactured after September 2018." but not sure where he got it.. Calling @ajw22
