How much water is expected to evaporate from the pool?

I usually have to run a hose into the pool every 2 days for an hour, am I losing more water than what’s normally expected due to evaporation?

How much are you losing? In NY, even this time of year, evaporation should be no more than 1/8"-1/4" per day. Now if you were in Nevada or Arizona, that could be as much as 1/2" - 3/4" a day (but you're not).
