Help! Wiring!

Installing new Hayward Tristan 900 to an intermatic timer. The red and black are connected to slots 1 and 3 in the timer as line and always on.

does it matter if red or black are swapped at the pump side? L1 or L2?

No, it does not matter.

No it doesn't matter in residential wiring if L1 and L 2 are crossed like you have done.

The L1 and L2 labels are arbitrary on the timer and pump. They only care that each wire is a hot lead coming from the breaker.
