Help ID Above Ground Pump Noise

Bought this Hayward new at the start of last season, 12 months ago. First run during opening today it’s buzzing. Not sure if this is bearings or impeller or..? Sounds the same during backwash or normal filtering. Water is moving same as usual.

Turn off the breaker to the pump. Then take the pump basket off so you can see the impeller. Is there something in there? If not then think about the bearings.

If the impeller is clear, it's probably bad bearings.

File a warranty claim with Hayward.

You can also file a warranty claim with Century (Regal Beloit motor) if necessary.
