Hello guys, I am a newbie to the pool world. I have a hayward pump and the Jandy Valve seems to be pointing backwards (comparing to all the educational videos I have seen on youtube). Is this normal or should be fixed? should the handle of the valve be pointing towards the pump?

Welcome to the forum!
If you want the two suction lines coming from the ground to be fully open, then the OFF paddle on the valve handle should be pointing away from the pump.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
That is my question. the Off paddle on the valve only rotates as shown in the picture below (the green line). I am not able to point it away from the pump.

That's strange, but an easy fix. I think you can unscrew that middle portion enough that the whole mechanism will go over the stops that are to either side. Otherwise, just unscrew all of those screws around the top. Pull out the guts and rotate them around. Then, screw it back together. The "OFF" paddle belongs on the other side.

You can reset the valve stops by removing the screws and reattaching the valve 180 degrees opposite.
