Hayward Aquarite SWG showing higher salt levels than tested

I apologize… I know this has been covered. But nothing I’ve read has helped. My SWG display says 3300. Leslie’s tested it at 2100. That’s a huge difference. It has always seemed to be high though. I tried to recalibrate it and stayed the same. It’s a new pool (November 2022).

I have a 11,000 gallon pool with a Hayward pump and SWG. Aquarite 900. TCell940 extended.

NOTE: I originally said 3300 and display now says 3600. I added some salt in between but wanted to show what it said at the time I sampled and took to Leslie’s.

Thank you for any advice!

Welcome to the forum.
The data implies the cell is generating chlorine. Is it? If so, no issue. Nothing to be concerned about.

Thanks mknauss… correct it certainly is generating. But if I want to get it to optimum (3200) that is awful far from 2100. I’m guessing it will flash “high salt” if I add any more. I also worry about the efficiency and life of it if I run it too high or too low?
The levels have been dropping apparently but the motherboard doesn’t seem to change much.

As JamesW posted, get your own salinity test kit.

Do not add any salt. You want your salinity in the low 3000's for an Aquarite.

What really matters is the amperage.

You need to keep the amperage well below 8.0 amps.

Ideal is between about 6.0 to 7.0 amps.

Based on the amperage of 6.77 amps, it is perfect and you should not add salt.

To be safe I will also follow that suggestion..Mine was just at 5.6 amps
My salt is around 3000

I just went out to check the diagnostics again and the AMPS were at 0.0??
It read 3400 salt and the “power” and “generating” lights were on.
We recalibrated it and the AMPS then moved to 6.83.
Again this is a pretty new unit.
Does anyone know why the AMPS would be showing 0.0 or what that means?
Thank you
