Looks like the latest Hayward H400FDN uses a glow igniter instead of spark ignition. I think it’s a silicon nitride igniter. Anyone know the typical voltage used to source this? Is it 24vac?

It looks like the Hayward HC Series HDF400 uses a glow ignitor. I think 24VAC is too low a voltage to heat an ignitor.

The nice thing about older heaters is that they were easy to troubleshoot. You can also find creative ways to get the heater started In a pinch.
