Good evening!

We are currently in the pool construction phase and are 1st time pool owners. I stumbled across this sight looking for ideas for tile and coping. Looks like I will be spending allot of time here! Never had a pool but am excited to learn all about it. The builder is shooting the gunite tomorrow so we are well underway. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

We live in Kingwood, TX where the weather has been warm enough to swim here, even in February! Kingwood is in Houston.

Looking forward to jumping on the forums.

Thank you!

Shane

Hi, welcome to TFP! The sun may be hot but the water is going to be pretty cold until it has a chance to warm up! The best tip I can give you is to order your own test kit and do your own testing. TFTestkits.net has the best value for the money.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Good luck with your pool build!

Shane,

Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all your pool questions... :lovetfp:

You are a much braver man than me.. Water temp was 63 degrees today in the DFW area. Even 80 degrees is just on the edge of being too cold..

If you want some "Been there, Done that" advice, then we need some more details about your pool and equipment.

And of course pics... :nopic:

How do you plan to chlorinate your pool?

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.
