A belt sander??? PLEASE tell me you have the angle grinder plugged into a GFIC plug or there is not water in the pool. Steel brush? BUT making sure to get all of the broken off ones up and out.

There is water in the pool, but its down past the shallow end. For the deep end i'll be doing everything from above and yes, every outlet is a GFI in my back yard.

On a positive note, the concrete looks like it's in very good condition! It's going to be a lot of work, but I think this will definitely be worth the time and effort.
I put the sanding on the walls on hold. I have someone coming to help to speed it up.
In the mean time, I was able to get the return plumbing done as well as the rebar for the skimmer!

NICE! How are you going to close all of the open ends? That is some nice work there!
I have some threaded caps that I will try and I also have some rubber plugs that expand. I'll go around with soap, water and a brush checking for any leaks.
I messed up though. I used some hydraulic cement around the skimmer before I poured to hold it place and walked away for a few mins. Came back and my wheel barrel was tipped over and laying on the skimmer. It's level from front to back, bit it's off a little bit from left to right. Ahh well...
Just think of it as a beauty mark and no one else will even know!!
Dang, not even sure what I did. I mixed the concrete according to the manufacture instructions and the concrete around the skimmer is all soft and crumbly.
Looks like Im gonna have to Jack hammer it out and hopefully not break the skimmer...

Ahh I figured it out.That sucks.
I used 8 bags of concrete. 5 of them I just bought and 3 were from last year.The three from last year were the last ones i mixed and poured. Once I chipped those away, the concrete below is hard.
I'll just get rid of the crumbly concrete, dowel a few peices of rebar in, use some concrete adhesive and re pour.
