FC 20 (of SLAM 29)
Brought to 29 last night according to the calculator.
This morning's reading was 20.
Pool is full of algae (dark green)
Shouldn't there have been more than 9 points of FC consumed overnight?

Ranger,

Not necessarily, and with that CYA level you're gonna need a LOT of bleach. Remember you have to stay at or above SLAM level the whole time. Is there a reason you can't get the CYA down, like water restrictions? Are you running the pump 24/7?

Long story on the CYA. Assumed wrong there was no residual from last season. I added the amount to bring to 40. Subsequent test showed 100+. Confession, I went off the reservation and used Tri-Chlor pucks last year. I am paying for it now. Have been replacing water and trying to work with Mother Nature's heavy rainfall too.
Yes, 24/7 on the pump.
