No have not deep cleaned. Looked in there before start up. Looked like the right amount of sand. Wouldn’t that be a Pain to do a deep clean now since I have already started it up? I think I will wait it out on that one?Ok.... a good sized sand filter. Good. Have you ever done a deep clean of the filter sand? Made sure it was filled enough?

I'm still thinking this has something to do with it being too cold for algae to grow so the chlorine is ineffective. Has water temp changed much? I assume you are running your pump/filter 24x7?
yes running filter 24/7 pool water temp was 60 this morning, was up to 62 on Friday. We are supposed to have some regular spring like temps this week forecast says 80 degrees Friday.I'm still thinking this has something to do with it being too cold for algae to grow so the chlorine is ineffective. It is what it is. I would not tell him to stop the SLAM Process. The FC loss shows chlorine is being consumed by algae kill and CC created. The process may be slow but going in the right direction. If not for the SLAM Process the algae would be growing, not declining. Like we are hearing elsewhere he is bending the curve down.
Me too!!! Growing really tired of my buddies telling me to take a sample to the pool store and they will get it cleared up. I am determined to prove them wrong! being this is my first opening of this pool I just keep thinking Im doing something wrong or there is something wrong with my equipment. For sure I would not recommend stopping it, just trying to understand why it is taking so long.

no I work so i usually test and add before I leave at around 6:30 am then when I get home at around 6:30 pm and then again before bed at around 10pm but it never drops below slam. the only reason it dropped slightly yesterday was because I was out of town and skipped SaturdayHow often are you checking each day and adding chlorine? At least 4x a day is good.....more often is even better if your testing shows a FC loss. Anyone at home that could do a few doses??
