Extreme learning curve Please HELP!!!!

Thanks. Actually sitting in the spa now, watching tv with the kiddo. At 14, I’m guessing he won’t want to do this much longer, so I’m trying to take advantage as long as I can.
We’ll get your pool there in no time.

OK so I vacuumed to waste today..... Sucked up a lot of debris!!! I am thinking of putting my robot in, although the rgular vac got up alot of debris I dont think its anything the robot could not handle...What do you guys think???

Todays test results
FC was at 18.5 when I got home so I vacuumed added water then added the recommended liquid chlorine.
tested again and FC was at 21
Pics attached...Miss Dixie had to get in one...

So if I was going to put my robot in I would do it before the LC addition. So you will be a little below SLAM level but that will be gentler on the robot. Run the robot for 2 hours pull it out then add the LC.

Keep at it. I cant tell a difference in clarity, but you can sure see the color changing for the better as yesterday was more brownish green.

I don't think that little bit of chlorine addition to bring it up to slam level will make any difference to the robot. If anything bring it to slam level and drop the robot in and let go to work. Been there done that and never an issue.

Last year I opened up a dark green pool that was closed three seasons. Slamming took a while but I can definitely say once I was barely able to see the floor in the shallow water in went the robot. After that it was a win win. It cleaned up what I couldn't see and there was a very visible difference every few hours. It mixes the water in the deep end which I think was holding things back a bit as there wasn't a main drain. I will say that was the definite tuning point.

Thanks for the reply.... I think I have decided to be patient, and just keep SLAM ing . I will vacuum to wast again when I have a chance

Just remember- it didn't go green overnight, so its going to take a little time to clear up too. Luckily you're doing this in the off season when your chlorine isn't being chewed up by the sun and your kids aren't whining to go swimming. :goodjob:

Any solid debris still in the pool is using up your chlorine trying to oxidize it. The more you or the robot can scoop out the better.

As a sidenote- Skippy went to our local Wallyworld and they have 10% chlorine back in stock in the pool section. Cheap liquid chlorine, yay! (we use liquid chlorine in the winter and just leave our SWG off)

Well I am very impatient so I ended up putting the robot vacuum in It sucked up a bunch of Crud. Pool still looks the same! Had to back wash again.
FC=20
Nobody said it isn't a chore but, rewarding in the end it is. Once the robot comes up empty handed that will mean no more organics in the water to eat up the chlorine. Then the algae in suspension can get killed off rendering the water more clear each day.

Keep up the POP (pool owner patience)!! You're doing great! And you will succeed!!

I'd recommend taking a picture of the pool each day with similar lighting (if possible) and at the same place. That place should be at the steps looking straight down into the pool. The visibility (or lack thereof) of each step helps to identify much smaller changes in the water clarity than by wide view pictures in varying light. This will help you and us to see exactly what is happening.

sorry yall..... been super busy. Have been keeping Chlorine at Slam level. Just picked up more liquid chlorine. I will take a pic tomorrow and post. I am glad that yall are helping me through this process... bmoreswim POP is going to be hard for me...lol my wife says the one thing I will never have is patience.....but I am trying and learning. Thanks guys
