Extending SWG Life

Hello,

I am wondering with which way of pump operation the SWG Life would be enhanced. Is it the hours it works or the total output it performs?

E.g. a pentair would produce 1.40lbs chlorine / 24 hours.

Does it make a difference if the pump is on 24 hours and the SWG put to e.g. theoretical to 4.16% or if the pump runs 1 hour and the SWG is put on 100%. Both settings would produce 0.58lbs chlorine. So is the higher setting and shorter run time better or the longer run time at lower setting - or are they equal for the lifespan of the SWG?

Manufacturers give life expectancy e.g. 10000 hours which makes me worried to go to a low filter pump speed with extended working hours.

Does not make any difference.

Cell life is determined by depletion of the metal plates generating chlorine.

Life expectancy hours of a cell is a meaningless number.

It would be 0.058.

If you have a really high flow rate, you will get more mechanical erosion of the plates in the cell for longer run times.

For lower flow, the mechanical erosion should not be significant.
