Day 148. First dead animal in pool.
Here are where things are right now. I want to thank everyone for their replies. All have been very helpful. I am learning every day. Pool was filled over Thanksgiving weekend. Took around 50 hours to fill. PB still needs to install one handrail and fix the mistake of connecting both skimmers to one valve. I have not yet received any equipment manuals, but I am told I will get all of them. I have not been shown anything yet on how to run the pool and keep it clean. They also said they would clean the filter because of all the dust from the plaster.
Pump has been running 24/7 except for two days ago when I got a message from the pump app saying an Under Voltage Alarm has been reported. The pump shut off and the circuit breaker in the garage was tripped. I reset the breaker but I did not know how to restart the pump. I tried to restart the pump the next day and it finally started. The steps I did to restart the pump was to open the pump lid and pour a bucket of water in the pump hold the on/off button down for like 5 seconds and it turned back on. I opened the pressure relief valve on the filter to let the air out.
The schedule for the pump is: Cleaner 8:00 AM -4:00 PM 85% speed, Pool 4:00 PM -10:00 PM 75% speed, Night 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM 65% speed. I do notice one of the skimmers has much better suction than the other. I hope this will be fixed when they have each skimmer on its own valve. We had trouble getting the side suction vacuum cleaner to move. Found out we need to have the right balance of suction between all the valves. The auto side suction cleaner is not connected. Right now I am manually vacuuming every day. I am enjoying the exercise and like doing it but I am sure that will fade fast.
I am not sure how much to open each valve. When I manually vacuum, I open the side suction valve all the way open, close the main drain and have the skimmers at about 25% open. After vacuuming I close the suction valve, open the main drain about 20% and the skimmers about 50%. Not sure what should be normal operating positions.
The salt cell was running for like one day but now it has a red light saying the water is too cold. Water temp is around 45-50 degrees. We have not tried the pool heater yet.
