Copper fittings?

Any luck with using "copper fittings" in your skimmer basket to help control Algae? I have been fighting this all spring. I take water samples to my local Leslies to test. I follow the recipe to get the water balanced but the pool is not getting clear. Still greenish and cloudy. If so, how many fittings for a 23K inground pool?

Zero…
Copper causes more problems than it solves like stains that are extremely hard to remove on surfaces, turns blonde hair green etc. and isn’t an effective long term solution for algae (or short term for that matter)

If you have algae you need to do the
SLAM Process to eradicate it.
The first step is getting a proper test kit so you can test yourself daily
Test Kits Compared
While you wait for this to arrive simply add 5ppm worth of liquid chlorine to the pool each day to keep things from getting worse until you can properly do battle.
Pour it slowly infront of a running return, away from the pool wall, brushing the area.
Use PoolMath to calculate the amount based on your pool volume and liquid chlorine strength.
ADD NOTHING ELSE.
NO more potions, hacks, whatever.
When your kit comes, do all the tests and you can post them here in this thread for guidance.
