Cloudy persistant water

Hello -

I opened my pool last weekend, it was pretty green but turned blue and cloudy within 24 hours of slamming. It has pretty much remained the same, its still quite cloudy. I can't get it to clear up so any tips would be appreciated. Here is my current levels. Wondering if i just keep going or if theres something else i should try. Thanks.

FC - 24
CC - 0
CYA - 40
pH - was 7.2 before starting
TA - 60

Might just need a few more days to filter-out all teh dead algae. Have you performed a deep clean of the sand before?

Sand filters are slow. When was the last time it was deep cleaned? Has FLOC ever been removed through it? You could try using enough pool DE to raise your filter pressure by 1psi, then be prepared to babysit as filter pressure should rise quickly after that. When pressure reaches 25% over baseline, backwash and repeat with new DE.

Also, it's not helping to run your FC level above 40% of CYA, it's just wasting chlorine and may be hurting your liner and equipment. Follow the FC/CYA Levels.

I am not familiar with deep cleaning sand, but I did replace it at the beginning of 2021 season.

I normally do the DE thing but admittedly forgot, I’ll get that going today. That has worked in prior years.
