Clearing up yellow algae dust quick, temporarily?

One of your problems is the 'yellow-out' which is usually a bromine compound. That conflicts with chlorine. Hence why no one can tell you what is safe. Your pool is a stew of unknowns.
My stew worked out for the most part. I'm thinking that fiber cellulose did it's job. Six cups and 24 hours later it looks clear down to four feet. Still using the SLAM method though.

Well the pool cleared up anyway this afternoon, at least the shallow end is, and down to about 4 feet.
It’s not that yellow out doesn’t work initially to clear the pool - its that it introduces ammonia. Ammonia consumes chlorine at a rapid rate. This leads to the algae returning in short order. It is a bandaid with terrible side effects.
It takes alot of chlorine and time to overcome the ammonia - more so than if you would have just treated the algae with chlorine in the first place.

Ok buddy. It's crystal clear as of this morning, and it was treated with chlorine. Thanks.

If it's holding FC - great, you dodged a major bullet. I'll see if I can dig up some threads of people who have fought ammonia in pools. Imagine dumping 30 gallons of liquid chlorine in your pool and ending up the day with 0 FC. It's that bad.

You really should think about a salt water chlorine generator given that you don't have easy access to liquid chlorine.

Discountsaltpool.com has good resources for comparing. Many of us have bought the Circupool brand - they're solid with a reasonable warranty for people who want to DIY (it's super easy.)

FC is at 10, the kit didn't come yet, CYA is 30-50 according to a test strip.

The water is 100% clear to the bottom, but I can see the dead algae on the deep end. I kept brushing towards the deep end.

I waste to the street from the main drain each morning while trying to slowly brush the thickest dead algae towards it for 10 min. It then clouds up the deep end again, and I put more fiber cellulose in the sand pump until the PSI increases by 10.

👍🏻 glad there’s some fc still in the water Keep an eye on the fc & when your kit comes you can do an
Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to see if it’s all really dead.
When it comes do all the tests & post the results
For the fiber/de:
You are supposed to add enough that the pressure increases by 1psi. Usually a cup or two.
Then backwash when pressure rises 25% over clean pressure (whatever that is for you)
If you won’t be home to watch the psi don’t add any fiber/de.
