I don’t clean my filters separately from the purge other than rinsing them off with the water hose occasionally. They get tossed in the tub when I do my scheduled Ahhsome purge as is directed.
If they are really ucky I do rinse them first.
I also rinse them afterwards.
If you’re not ready to purge & just need to clean the filters you can soak them with a little ahhsome in a tub/ bucket. Then rinse them afterwards.
They sell another gel specifically for filter cleaning that may be less concentrated & is a little different than the regular stuff so 1 tsp or a little less of the regular ought to do the trick.
It looks like Ahhsomeguy may be on vacation but hopefully he’ll reply with exact instructions for dilution upon his return.

Ahh-Some can be used to deep clean your Tri-x filters. We recommend our filter cleaner product for this job when not purging the tub at the same time. However, if you already have the Ahh-Some Plumbing &Jet Cleaner gel handy, you can substitute that for the filter cleaner. The formulas are related and it will work. Add two (2) or three (3) teaspoons of the gel to your chosen container in which to place the filters. ideally, add warm water taken from the hot tub itself. Stir it so it dissolves and place the filters into it. Rinse the filters PRIOR to placing the filters into the cleaning container. Soak for 30 minutes and be sure to gently move and agitate the filters while in the container. This will aid in making sure the Ahh-Some penetrates deep into the filters to remove gunk and grime. Remove and hose them off. Place them back into the container for another 10 minutes or so. Hose them off again. Ok to dump the used container water on the grass, in shrubs or flower beds. When I clean my large filter I pour the used water down my master bath shower drain. If your shower drain or any other drain is slow to evacuate water using the Ahh-Some will help clean them too. Important: Since your filters are ceramic we do NOT recommend that you place them inside the hot tub proper when you are performing your periodic cleaning and purging. Note also that the filters may not look as white after cleaning. If you need further assistance just call us. Our contact info is on the container or our Ahhsome.com website.
