I bought a Core55 (previous gen model) in May of 2022, and in August of 2023 had a warranty cell replacement because mine was showing low cell life on the controller. Today I checked my cell and it's reading low cell life again. I called Circupool and am shipping the cell and controller to them today, and they said I have to pay whatever the pro-rated amount is. I am just trying to figure out how 2 cells die, after about a year or so of use. My pump runs 8-10 hours a day, and the cell is oversized for my pool so I run it at 50% most of the time and maybe 75% for a month when it's very hot outside (southeast FL). Chemistry is checked often, ph gets a little high here and there but is corrected, and that is very common for swg's. I am just not thrilled to have to be replacing this many cells in barely 3 years, and now that I am in my 3rd year of warranty I am out of pocket more money, i think its 40% parts cost, on a $900 cell. These things aren't cheap either as most of you know, the core55 is about $2000 after tax.

Based on your other threads, you are cleaning the cell with acid.

Cleaning the cell with acid damages the metals on the plates that make the chlorine, which leads to early cell failure, which leads to additional sales. Rinse and repeat... (I said this in your other thread--> Can't get FC up).

Stop cleaning with acid. Lower your CSI to be -.3 to 0 and keep it there. This will reduce any scaling.

I cannot see your pool math logs. Can you post a full set of test results?

If you do need to clean, follow the instructions here, instead of acid:

It literally says to clean it with 4:1 water and MA in the book.

We know. We literally told you not to do that. It is one of the quickest ways to kill a cell. Read the link on how to clean. Keep your CSI slightly negative (-.3 to 0) to avoid scaling.

From the link:

Cleaning a SWG cell with Muriatic Acid

Cleaning an SWG cell with a 10:1 diluted solution of muriatic acid will remove some of the rare earth coatings from the plates and reduce the cell's life with every cleaning.

Follow their chemistry advice which is prone to scaling, and you'll need to acid wash it every 3 months as directed.

Its even worse for me with little calcium if any. I wont ever scale, but my cell is stamped right on it to acid wash it frequently.

My first cell spent 4+ hours soaking in straight acid over 6.5 years before I learned better.

Current test results from a k2006 test kit, added liquid chlorine today since swg is down. Added 3 cups of MA after test.

Edit: forgot to add salt level at 3000ppm
