What are the main real world benefits to salt. I’ve read the literature on it but have not been in a saltwater pool. Do y’all love it?
New fiberglass pool installed in April. Chlorine right now. Wife’s hair is not liking the chlorine.

Not having to buy chlorine and add it manually. A bit of independence if you will Some like the feeling of the added salinity in the water. But remember, whether you add it via liquid or let an SWG make it for you in gas form, it's still chlorine.

Recent convert here, used tabs then liquid chlorine. My experience is the SWCG route is far simpler in regards to maintenance, the math says it will pay for itself by the end of it's life based on current chlorine prices and reduced drain and fills when using tabs, far less trips to the store to by bleach or any other chlorine, the water makes my skin feel sooooo much nicer (softer maybe) after getting out, the wife abd daughters hair is in much better shape after a swim as well. I wouldn't change back if you paid me.

The down side is YOU aren’t needed anymore :)
Once dialed in FC will be 7…few days later you think I need to keep the pool up and test and FC is still 7. Then it’s like ground hog day movie.
PH will drift up some but there is a range for a reason. I just dump a little acid in every few weeks and test it.
