just drained and refilled my pool. CH is 30. I am going to verify this with my new TF-100 kit coming soon, but if that is correct, it says I should add 49lbs of Calcium Chloride! That can't be right can it??
The LaMotte Color Q LaMotte actually measures Total Hardness and not Calcium Hardness, no matter what LaMotte calls it in their paperwork. Total Hardness depends on a lot of other hardness factors other than just Calcium. Total Hardness depends a lot on your local water. Click on the link for more about that.
OK Thanks! It seems best to wait for the tf-100, however, it will not arrive for about another week from Amazon. In the meantime if CH is really that low will it hurt the pool for one week?
