Bubble cover

I get a bit of greenness forming on the top of my bubble cover. I think this is happening where water flows on when it’s being pulled out but then effectively becomes stagnant. How do you clean this (quickly and easily)?

Brush the cover while in the pool and hose it off with a solution of chlorine outside of the pool.

Rain will get you too. Surface water gets nasty quick.
