Bleach prices 2013

Walmart moves the product quickly so not likely to be old. Look for date code on side of bottle (sometimes on bottom) ex. 13144 09:45 TX made on 144th day . That's a good price

Mine all say 13047 and then different times. So, that's the 47th day, right? I bought 2 boxes, I'm going to need around 3-4 bottles at start up next week, and the rest should be gone shortly.

Best price I've found is from Lowes and includes employee discount... (http://www.lowes.com/pd_77608-1327-331_ ... facetInfo=)
(6.18/2) / 128*.10) =$0.24 (I think I figured out how to do the math from the previous posts... :p)
I think you did the math right but wrong price(?) and wrong formula syntax (6.86/2)/(128*0.1)= $0.026/oz NaClO. Should it be $6.86?...either way the price is okay, but a little high

Employee discount is 10% so my price is 6.18 for the two.
Yeah, forgot the left parenthesis on the last part, and I don't think .10 is different than 0.1 mathematically, although likely not correct to "math" people (which I am not haha!).

Our Sam's club just raised their 3 pack from $8 to $8.50. Stopped at 2 pool stores, 4 pack of "shock" (10%) for $18... not good. Haven't been to Wal-Mart in a while, but probably same as Sam's.

MalWart also has HTH 10% @ $6.50/2 gallon pack. Not a fantastic price but not bad.
(6.50/2)/(128*0.10)= $0.25/oz NaClO...middle of the road to high price.

Hmm...the chlorine calc'r said .25/oz is "good". Compared to what else is available around here it's REAL good, ha. Often can get 121oz. 7.86 "effective" (8.25% labeled) @ $2.49/ea, calc says .25/oz also but same package @ regular $2.99 (.26/oz) isn't so "good". I also wonder about labeling...often bleach will be produced and bottled at a location and labeled for different brands; combination of the bottle form factor (shape & label area), cap type (type, not color) and under-cap seal are clues (I have a lot of experience with product packaging, including a little company called Coca-Cola, ha ha). If that stuff is the same, it's very likely from the same source. The bleach inside is probably the the same, but the content label for two or three different brands lists 8.25%, but one of them lists 7.86% EFFECTIVE in fine print BELOW that while the others don't. Something to take into consideration when entering the numbers in the bleach and pool calcs, I've taken to entering 7.86 in for all of the 8.25 I use in the Pool Calc and the FC results have been accurate...when I was putting in 8.25 it would be a little off but nothing to worry about (that's for like-bottled 8.25 bleach but different brands).

That's what I'm finding around here....but always looking for a better deal on bleach. Thanks for the input.
