Bakersfield, Ca Gunite Build

When done please post a picture of yourself in a floating pool chair with a beer in hand....you deserve it!

Congratulations!!!

Now the hard work begins - you need to take over your own pool water maintenance or else the "pool experts" are going to screw it up and your next post will either be in the "Help! I have a green swamp" Forum or else "Dang, now I have to drain half my pool because of too much CYA" Forum.

Yes we want to see more pics!
As a side note, what does it mean when someone at work talks about CYA and then I realize they arent talking about pools??

It means that you are a pool-nut....just like the rest of us ;)

After I joined TFP and for quite a while, I could NOT understand why so many people were worried about CYA. I thought well, maybe there's a lot of sneaky business going on here. So I kept watching and waiting to find out what all was going on underground. Then I was worried maybe I needed to CMA...... After about 2-3 months, I read Pool School - Bwah ha ha ha ha! :laughblue: :laughblue: :laughblue:

That revelation kept me laughing for days! (True story, no joke!)

You all are just too funny. :laughblue: I can't say I didn't think the same thing at 1st though. Having been a nurse, and a nursing instructor for many years, "CYA" was a common abbreviation stated, and encouraged when it came to teaching proper documentation.

I'll admit that it is also actually difficult for me to write complete sentences anymore because nurses don't write in complete sentences, we abbreviate everything. LOL I suspect NSG documentation here would look something like: OP c/o green pool x14 days, liq. bleach administered @ 120 oz per hr via return route, HS OCLT check encouraged with before sunrise in AM recheck. OP instruction given to continue to check FC, CC, pH, and also CYA... LOL can you just imagine how confusing that would be.

Emersonsdad,

In honor of your new fire pit, I took the boys out last night to our fire pit and we had smores :) it was a cool and beautifully clear sky last night.

Matt SO pretty! BUT you KNOW I want to see the boys with the mess all over their faces and shirts! LOL Nothing sweeter than messy little kids!

Kim (I always write a note during the first week of school.........."Please do not send your child to school in clothes they cannot get dirty. It is a part of the Kindergarten experience!" )

I'll remember that next time. Trying to hold three little boys still, as you know, is quite a task :)

And yes, school clothes for boys are always expected to come home with grime liberally applied. I once found pizza sauce on the back of my middle boys school shirt...square in the middle!! And don't bother asking how it got there, the typical boy response - shrug shoulders and say, "I dunno?"
