Autopilot ST220 operation

We recently added an Intelliflo VSP with our aging Autopilot ST220 Salt Generator system. The system appears to be working well, however when programming or pausing manual mode the pump is NOT running and noticed the Autopilot control board is still lit up.
I assume the ST220 is still sending power to the RC52 generator/manifold.
If the pump is NOT running and Autopilot control board is fully lit, is the ST220 burning up the RC52 or causing premature failure of other Autopilot components?
How do I know if the system is producing chlorine and/or effectiveness?

Welcome to the forum!
Your SWCG has a flow switch. It is the Secondary safety device when the pool pump is not operating. The Primary safety device should be the power being removed from the SWCG when the pool pump is off.
The Control Board is lit when the pump is off, the flow switch should be preventing the SWCG from generating chlorine. Again, not the best way to wire the system.
