Another pool north of Dallas

Thanks I hope so too! Couldn't have done it without this forum! The newest weirdness is while he was doing the pressure test there was a horrendous amount of stuff flowing out of the skimmer - like a huge cloud overtaking the pool. Now I have to figure out how to take care of that!

Maybe those elbow joints weren't sealed correctly in the first place? We had a leak in a bathroom once from a plumbing connection that was not completely sealed. I'm sorry to hear about all the troubles! I don't see how they can avoid breaking into that wall.

The stone guy never showed up yesterday to seal the wall after turning off the scuppers to let it dry out for several day. Wet spots were still visible so I think there's a lot of water in that wall. Now the rain has started and it's forecasted through early next week, so it will be late next week before they can even attempt it. The good news is Mr. PB arrived to reset the panel after the plumber screwed up the automation and nothing would run on the timers. Argh!

We got a message from Mr. PB today, he and the owner have decided to open the scupper wall and check the plumbing to see where the water is instead of just allowing the stone guy to seal it! It's probably going to be a mess but at least they will determine what the issue is! Also got an email from the contractor and he will start the outdoor kitchen late next week! I'm feeling better!

Excellent! I hate to coerce you into spending more $, but now is the time to plan for expanding the capabilities of your ODK. Maybe a design that will allow more counter space and side burner with utilities ran (water supply and drain) and capped off for future use. Even if you allowed for holes through the decking with shallow pipe stubs. With your cooks slinging BBQ and possibly boiling seafood, it will come in handy. I have no doubt it will get used!

Thanks Dave, love the ideas. We looked into that but it would have more than doubled the price to run plumbing to it, tie into the existing drain etc., the kitchen is just a few steps away, I would have loved it though. I'm hoping the counter space which is two tiered, will work since we are limited on space. I am going to ask for an additional outlet - so the margarita machine can have a dedicated spot! You see where my priorities are, right?

I like your thinking!

Sort of an update - stone guys came out yesterday morning to explore the now infamous leak in the scupper wall. Stone guy #1 starts chiseling while stone guy #2 starts applying stucco on the back opposite side. Luckily Mr. PB shows up and tell him to stop, this is not what we agreed to he tells me. Stone guy #1 is clearly irritated and yanks the coping off, saying no leak. Mr. PB calls the owner of the stone company and they agree to meet back at 2 pm. On their return visit, stone guy again says it's not leaking but he will get a hammer and tear into the back to prove it and heads to the truck while we wait. After several minutes Mr. PB heads out to check on him, Mr. PB comes back alone and says - there's no leak, they will be back next week to replace the coping, finish the second layer of stucco and spray some sealer on it. I'm at a loss as to what to do now except keep all the photos and documentation for future reference in the event there are issues.

Anyone else ever have this kind of problem?

I was bummed to have read that this is still going on for you guys. So how have they explained the wetness that shows up on the wall if its not a leak????

Thanks guys - Mr. PB was with me on this initially, indicating he also thought there was a leak as he had never seen it before. The owner of the stone company says it's the stone on the front leaching the water through to the back side. But it's always the same three areas near the backside of the scuppers, occasionally varying slightly in size, but same location. My question to them if that was the case, wouldn't the wind and sun play a part in that and the size and location be dependent on that? They appeared even when the scuppers were off for a week. They are not stains and definitely feel wet to the touch. Thanks for the support.
